The iBiote program offers you a personalized approach to your health. These specialized analyses make it possible to characterize your microbiotes in order to highlight possible imbalances (called dysbioses) as well as their potential links with various pathologies and symptoms.

The iBiote website is an interactive platform on which you can directly order your analysis online according to the range of products on offer. The sampling kit will be sent to you directly by post for home sampling* (sample that you can return to us directly by post). Following your order, the creation of your personal account will give you access to a lot of information about the analysis itself as well as the sampling methods. You will find a questionnaire on your lifestyle and consumption habits, the answers to which will allow us to better interpret your results. The platform also allows you to follow the progress of your analysis in real time and invites you to indicate the name of your doctor so that, if you wish, your results can be sent directly to him/her.
* Only Gut iBiote, Vaginal iBiote, Buccal iBiote samples can be taken at home (self-sampling). Blood iBiote and Lung iBiote samples are taken in a laboratory or hospital (Laboratoires Alphabio Marseille and Hôpital Européen Marseille).
Contents of the kit
Here is a list of the contents of the iBiote kit. This kit allows you to take your sample at home very easily and in a few minutes.
Cuvette cover
Hygienic bag for stool collection. Its purpose is to minimize the risk of contamination.
Sampling tube
Sample collection tube. It contains a solution that stabilizes the microbiota and ensures the stability of the sample until it is sent to the laboratory.
Gloves
Their purpose is to minimize the risk of contamination.
Alcoholic wipe
Allows you to disinfect your hands after sampling.

Science
Since 2017, the R&D department of the iBiote group has been actively involved in research on human microbiota. The setting up of this microbiota analysis service has been the subject of a great deal of work to standardize the analytical protocols for each key step that the sample must go through. The bacterial DNA contained in the samples is isolated, amplified and then obtained using a new generation sequencing device (Illumina® MiSeq). Bacteria are identified by their universal 16S gene, using state-of-the-art bioinformatics methods.
Simplicity
Our website is interactive with the possibility to collect information about microbiota and our range of analysis. Depending on the microbiota analyzed, the sample can be ordered directly online and carried out at your home. Thanks to a stabilization solution this stabilized sample can be sent back to our laboratories by mail. Once your sample has been received, you can follow the progress of your analysis on our interactive platform and retrieve your detailed and personalised report.
Database
The iBiote project is based on a proprietary database that centralizes knowledge on microbiota, making it possible to compare each new patient to a population of asymptomatic individuals or individuals with a particular pathology and thus highlight potential imbalances (dysbioses and/or characteristic signatures). This database is continuously enriched through ongoing recruitment and our participation in numerous research projects.
